New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company [1955], 1955. First American edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo. [6], vii-xvi, [3], 4-362, [4] pp. Yellow cloth with silver lettering on the spine. Decorated endpapers and pastedowns. Price of $5.00 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Illustrated with several full-page and in-text black and white photographs. A record of Wendell Phillips' travels to the ancient sites Beihan and Marib, and modern Yemen and Oman. Phillips had a fascination with ancient Middle Eastern archaeology, and was the President of the American Foundation for the Study of Man. A touch of foxing to the boards' edges; jacket has a chip to the rear panel and a bit of general edge wear.
