Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin and Company, 1889. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 7 1/4" X 5 . Printed by the Riverside Press, Cambridge whose stamp is found on the title page. XXVI chapters. 320 pp. plus 12 pp. of Houghton Mifflin and Company advertising. Book has scuffed extremities, dark dyed top edge, gilt text on spine and front, darkened spine, oval library sticker remnant on spine and libray sticker on front pastedown. Front board features blackline drawing of apronned girl leaning on small tree and looking wistfully out to sea. Top 1 1/2" of front shows fishing village scene done in gilt. Book is tight and square.
