This is an early (2nd) edition published by l'Union des Combattanys de la Resistance before being published by Larousse (to whom the parties were connected), This is a particularly important association copy signed by Thierry, the son of author Jean Valeur- true name Jules Hollier-Larousse . Inscription reads: Pour mon Ami Noël MEILLEUR qui est venu en Normandie en 1944 Pour nous rendre le Bien le plus précieux "la Liberté" and beneath the title Les Quatrains....Ecrits par mon père pendant les années douloureuses de l'Occupation Nazie. pour redonner courage aux Français. En toute amitié Signature. With book comes a card of m et mme Thierry-Hollier Larousse on the back of which is written "Madame BARJAUD-VERINAUD Jean with their address in Caen. She was president of the Old Combatant Association. Thierry was also a resistance fighter in his own right
