About This Item
1872: Hurst and Blackett, 1900. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo. Pp. xiv, 347, frontis engraving with tissue-guard, title-page vignette, 2 maps, 2, plates. Original green cloth lettered in gilt. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, the cloth a little scuffed and scratched, some ink transfer from a letter perhaps that must've been inserted loosely between the half-title and frontis, previous owner's name to top right corner o the title-page, with an old booksellers description slip removed from the verso of p. 347. Light foxing to 2 plates, but overall a very clean, and tight copy. TPL 4530; Watters 725.
