More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Light creasing and staining to gutters and hinges but binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild scuffing overall. Spine has light tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.

Clean pages with noticeable tanning to endpapers. Tightly bound with faint thumb-marking throughout. Pencil inscription to front endpaper. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Mild crushing to spine ends. Mild tanning to board edges. Book has forward lean. Unclipped jacket has moderate edgewear with chips, tears, and creasing. Mild foxing. Heavy tanning to spine. Light rubbing and marking all over.

United Kingdom: Collins Crime Club. 288 pages. Private small name and date stamp on slightly browning end paper. On rear of title page is a stamp (approx 3cm x 3cm grid type stamp - not dissimilar to a library stamp) - this is stamp used by the former owner of the book for date and shelving etc. Otherwise this is a sound clean hardback, The dust jacket is slit at top edge of front cover near spine approx. 4cm and the spine and flap creases have been reinforced with brown paper on the inside of the dust jacket.
