About This Item

Boston: Little, Brown & Company, 1926. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. An unusually attractive copy in hardcover format and First Edition state, a warm, creamy brown cloth cover, with gilt lettering and illustrations to front cover and spine mimicing the Grolier design type, a fine full-color illustration at frontis of Queen Mary's Psalter from the 14th century, tissue-protected, quite lovely. Bumping to spine head and foot. Frontis matter + 316 pp. The Colophon notes that the volume was composed in Poliphilus type and that the author composed the typography, presswork and binding. Rough-cut fore-edges, overall a lovely copy of this important work of reflection and contemplation of an influential bookman.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
