Small 3 x 5 inches. This copy is lacking both covers, leather back strip chips and worn, the text block is firm, retains the end pages, marbled edges (faded), steel engraved frontispiece (engraved by D. G. Johnson with reference to page 99 and caption: "Domestic happiness, thou only bliss / Of Paradise, that hast survived the fall" from Shakespeare's Hamlet) and illustrated title page preceding the regular title page. Contents with light age toned paper and light foxing. Former ownership name on the front fly leaf, Lorenzo Baker, dated 1847, the contents are otherwise unmarked. A good reading copy, firm text block make this an excellent binding project volume. 310 pages, including Index.
