About This Item

New York: Alfred A.Knopf, 1951. 1st ed. (as stated verso t.p.) . Grey Cloth. Fine/VG. 14.5 Cm x 21.5 Cm. xi+605+vi (index); can see no reason for rating this less than fine - clean, tight, bright, unmarked etc.; unclipped jacket generally clean with only hints of top edge rubbing, spine and top front slightly sun-faded but this hardly shows against yellow paper (will add protective sleeve when ordered). An important and remarkably broad collection of texts providing an overview of the issue on the eve of the Civil Rights campaign. Authos represneted include Ralph Bunche, W.I.Thomas, Kurt Lewin, Horace Cayton, Frenkel-Brunswik,Guy Johnson, Cooley, Robert Park, Bogardus and W.E.Du Bois. Coverage is not confined to African Americans - native Americans, Jews, Hispanics, Mexicans, Chinese, French Canadians and Puerto Ricans are all the concern of at least one reading. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
