Original blue cloth lettered in gilt to spine, top edge gilt; pp. cv, 401, xiv; 2 black and white photograph plates, 3 maps of which 2 are folding and loosely inserted at the end; partially unopened, apart from very light marking to binding, a very clean and bright copy. Subscribers' limited edition, not numbered by hand as others. John Rae's letters to the Hudson's Bay Company relating the explorer's adventures during his expeditions. In particular, they highlight Rae's importance in the search for Franklin. Arctic Bibliography 36959.
