Putnam, 1913. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. UNCOMMON 1913 hardcover. First Edition, published by Putnam. No dust jacket. Pages are firmly bound, and unmarked except for former owner's name and city, handwritten in pen inside front on the pastedown, also dated 1913. Gilt titles on front of dark blue cloth and along spine remain bright. Cloth in generally nice condition with minimal bumping at tips; very minor small surface stain bottom front of blue cloth is isolated, does not affect the interior. A solid, well-perserved copy overall. Biography of the legendary German female epistolary writer Rahel Varnhagen, who lived in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
