London:Saunders and Otley, 1839. 2nd Edition. hard cover. Very Good/No jacket. http://www.parnassusbooks.com/image/data/books/2020/09/0_img_8342-Copy.jpg. London:Saunders and Otley. 1839. 2nd edition. xi+312pp and iv+305pp. Illustrated with 8 lithographic plates (5 with tissue guards) and numerous drawings in text. Hardcover.  Bound in 3/4 leather with marbled boards. Leather spine decorated in gilt. Leather is worn and scuffed with some chipping to spine strip as well as to one leather label. The spine ends are worn and chipped and edge points bumped. The marbled boards are rubbed and shelfworn but boards are still firmly attached. Page edges marbled.  Internally, both volumes have 3 bookplates to inside front board (stacked), and both volumes have the 2nd free endpage top edge clipped. The frontispiece in the 1st volume still has tissue guard however other 3 do not, as well as other 3 having old damp stains to outer edge of margins, none intruding onto plate. All 4 plates in volume 2 have tissue guards and are in very good condition. Both volumes are in very good, clean condition. The bindings are tight and hinges intact.
