Fictional account opening with a convocation of Saints discussing the usual litany of despair, anger, etc., going on below. St. Odule must go below. He is reluctant. Something went wrong, he and Blessed Pierre land in the Mohave Desert instead of Paris or Geneva. They meet various characters, and a goat. A prolific 1930s-1950s American novelist and poet, Robert Nathan was commonly known for "One More Spring" published earlier in his career.
