Cleveland: Arthur H. Clark, 1930. First edition. Hardcover. Small stain to front free endpaper, bookplate to front fixed endpaper, else near fine in moderately edgeworn dustjacket/good. Octavo, original burgundy cloth; 303 pp., frontispiece and 8 plates with tissue guards.

First English translation of the French text originally published in London in 1702. This copy with the Barnes & Noble dustjacket, as described in Clark and Brunet #151: "In 1940 Barnes and Noble purchased 461 copies at one-half cost. A dust jacket was prepared . . . at the bottom of the [jacket] front cover and spine 'Barnes & Noble, Inc. is printed." Total edition was 966 copies.
