About This Item
New York: Grove Press, 2001. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. A terrific association copy of this collection of essays on food, one of Harrison's great passions. The first edition was a relatively small 17,881 copies.
271 pages. First edition (first printing, with a numberline ending in 1). A fine copy in a fine dust jacket. This copy is inscribed by Harrison to his friend and neighbor, Margot Kidder, the actor best-known for playing Lois Lane in the Christopher Reeve Superman movies. Harrison and Kidder both lived in Livingston, Montana, and this is probably a presentation copy, inscribed, "To my dear Margot, this [?], with love from Jimmy (going to France tomorrow)." Harrison has further signed in full on the half-title page. The inscrutable word looks a lot like "wisdom", but I don't think Harrison would be so pretentious. In any case, an exceptional copy of this collection of food writing.
