About This Item
Oblong 8vo (4 ½ x 8 ¼) half leather and marbled boards with large printed label on front cover, 300 printed leaves. Wear to extremities, and top hinge is somewhat weak, a little page creasing, internally very good or better. This unusual manuscript receipt book contains about 300 leaves, with about one third used. It is a record of items shipped across New York from July 13, 1868 to January 1, 1870. Most of the items referred to in the receipts seem to be sundries or articles of ladies clothing, such as, hoop skirts and corsets.
