Ex-library with marks including a perforation stamp and accession stamp on title page. perforation stamp was spotted on pg 15 and may appear on other text pages. frontispiece bound out of order. additionally, ALL PLATES are marked with a circular ink stamp on corner, often overlapping the image. Soling to half title page and title page, finger smudges in margins throughout. some pages chipped corners and small tears at edges. some creased tissue guards). Black library buckram. 80 pp + plates. 41 tissue guarded plates (12 repeated in color). Oversize (elephant folio). Very interesting resource for a connoisseur or student of 19th century American art. This increasingly scare edition was limited to 75 copies, and this is No. 68. The Aquarelle Edition is printed on larger paper compared to other editions and 12 plates appear in color as well as in bw: Knights of Old (Percy Moran), A Cozy Corner (Francis D. Millet), Awaiting the Absent (Charles S. Reinhart), Oriental Interior (Frederick Arthur Bridgman), In Holland (William H. Howe), Little Lord Fauntleroy (Marcius-Simons), Landscape and Sheep (R.W. Van Boskerck), Cashmere Travellers in a Street of Delhi (Edwin Lord Weeks), In Connecticut (George H. Smillie), Pond Lilies (Ernest Parton), Disappointment (Charles Sprague Pearce), and Twilight in Paris (Childe Hassam).
