Spine with 5 raised bands, gilding and a red morocco spine label. Ruled in gilt, all edges gilt. A nice copy. A very few pages with light spotting. A celebrated work, casting doubts on the priority of discoveries, with much on Descartes, Locke, Leibnitz, Buffon, Needham, Newton, Copernicus, the circulation of the blood, surgery, animalcules, sexual system of plants, squaring the circle, etc. Worm holes to lower rt corner of last half of book- not into text. .
