The Harvill Press, 1948. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Very Good ; Good Jacket. 1948 Harvill Press, First UK edition. Hardcover book has beige cloth-covered boards and gold spine lettering. Spine ends bumped. Small nick at head of spine. Small (one-quarter inch) dent in spine edge. A very small brown spot on front cover, and one on back cover. Endpapers discolored. Imprinted bookplate on front endpaper. Binding tight. Pages very slightly tanned at margins, but clean and unmarked. Translated by Alexander Teixeira de Mattos. Edited, with many additions and introduced by J. P. Mayer. 354 pages. Illustrated dust jacket is rubbed, edge worn, and has chips and small tears. A small triangular piece is missing from top edge. Erased pencil mark on front flap.
