New York: New York Public Library, 1951. Limited Edition, 1/1000 copies. Hardcover. Near fine. Octavo; pp; 187, colophon; frontispiece portrait of Lenox and nineteen additional black and white plates; blue cloth, lettered in gilt, with a gilt coat of arms at center of the front board;. Henry Stevens emigrated from his native Vermont to London and became a legendary bookseller. He supplied the great libraries and collectors with Americana and other remarkable rare books. Lenox was one of his clients. Steven's memoirs should be in every bookseller's library.
