Memoirs of the Nobel Prize-winning British physicist Sir Joseph John Thomson (1856-1940) who was credited with discovering the electron. In this autobiography, Thomson describes his own researches as well as those of many of his eminent fellow workers--the Curies, Sir Oliver Lodge, Lord Melvin, Lord Moulton, Stokes and others equally important. He also describes his interest in spiritualism, the years of the First World War, and his encounters with personalities such as Woodrow Wilson, Will Rogers, George Gissing, and Kaiser Wilhelm II.
