Includes "Dons offerts à Madame Bonaparte;" "Voeux du Peuple ...'" "Principales Epoques de la Vie du Premier Consul;" "Son Voyage en Belgique;" "Inscriptions pour les Portrait et Bustes;" "Sur divers sujets;" "Stances et Chanson;" "La Liberté des Mers, scènes allégoriques;" and "Dialogue et Chant, ajoutés à une Folie, Opéra."
Binding somewhat worn, rubbed and bumped, much of marbled paper lacking; free endpapers lacking; hinges split. Slightly browned; edges dusty; some leaves worn and stained, including title; three small binder's holes to inner margins; one leaf reinforced with narrow strip of early paper to inner margin. First Edition, with 5 subsequent editions published between 1802 and 1811.
The present work is a collection of tributes, poems, and epigrams in commemoration of Napoleon's first visit to the Belgian department of the Scheldt in western Belgium, which was under French control from 1795 to 1814.
