London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1964 G+/VG-. 8vo. original blue cloth gilt (ex-library with RSMs, label, bookplate etc. to endpapers, FFE and half-title pasted together, tape marks to boards, a little rubbed & thumbed, slight slant to spine) in dustwrapper (rubbed and nicked, slight creasing, label and tape mark to spine); pp. 256, with 3 colour plates, 23 monochrome plates & an endpaper map. A good reading copy. [Neate S82: Wilfrid Noyce and Robin Smith, two leading British climbers, were killed on this unhappy expedition]. Arguably the first book by a British climber to break from the official expedition account.. First Edition. Hard Cover. G+/VG-.
