Tan cloth, brwn lettrng (slght bmpng to couple crnrs), w/ d.j. cover art wraparound photo of view from 23,000 feet looking south-east towards the Karakoram. First American edition of this mountaineering expedition in 1962 led by Malcolm Slesser and Sir John Hunt to scale the summit of Ismoil Somoni (Pik Kommunizma), the highest mountain of the Pamir mountains, in which two British climbers -- Wilfrid Noyce and Robin Smith died in a 4000 foot fall.
