Frontis. xvi, 416pp. plus 16pp. of publisher's advts., dated March, 1856. Orig. cloth. A very good copy. Field 1327. Sabin 73328. The author spent many years among the Indians of the northern plains of Oregon and the Washington territory. Field calls him "an intelligent observer and a faithful narrator." There is much on the Hudson's Bay Company and fur trading.
