Vol I: The Old World; Vol II: The New World; Vol III: Great Britain. A selectively annotated bibliography in a classified arrangement with an author index. Lists in chronological order books on travel and voyages, geographical descriptions, adventures, shipwrecks and expeditions. Cox aimed to be comprehensive for works published up to 1800. This first edition is in larger format than the Martino reprint edition. An ex-library set with small labels taped to the spines, bookplates on the front pastedown endpapers, and stamps and marks on the title-pages (rectos and versos). Some corners bumped, otherwise a Good set.
