Wilhelm Ignaz Schutz was a 17th-century German lawyer who wrote numerous books on law. One of Schutz's works was "Reflexiones politico-consolatoriae" which was his own considerations on the opportunities for men in politics, as well as commonly encountered misfortunes in law. Schutz includes satirical anecdotes intended for humor as well as a curious inclusion of a letter by Thomas More.
