London: John Murray (Publishers), 1921. 1st Edition. Black Cloth. Very Good Minus/N/a. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Large. No Illustrations. xxiiipp; 430pp ; 6pp of advertisements. First edition copy of Viscount Haldanes' best known work which deals with the philosophical implications of the theory of relativity. Bound in black cloth with some fading to the spine. The head and tail of the spine are a little bumped and there are light bumps to the edges of all four corners. Foxing to the end papers and lightly to the half title page and to the last two index pages. Light splitting to the front and rear inner hinges - though the boards remain firmly attached. Textblock is clean and tight. A very good minus copy.
