About This Item
Adelaide, Rigby, 1966; 258 pages. The story of one of Australia's iconic newspapers that, in its day, encapsulated the larikin spirit that once pervaded Australia. A Very Good copy, hard cover cloth binding that is tight, straight and clean with very light edge wear and lightly age-toned edges, in a dustwrapper that has a few marks but has not been price-clipped. No names or annotations - a nice copy of this classic newspaper history. From the dustwrapper: Championing lost causes, vehement on serious issues, but alive with jokes and cartoons, ""in the thirty-two years of its life Smith's punched more noses and raised more belly laughs than the rest of the papers in Australia combined."" The story of one of Australia's best loved papers – sensational and spectacular – told in a racy style by a man for many years intimately associated with it. An entertaining summary of years of entertainment."
