Hardcover. 156 pages; Contents clean and secure in original red cloth binding in edgeworn dustjacket, chipped at edges and rippled/creased on rear panel (now in protective mylar cover). Dustjacket designed by Ithell Colquhoun. No markings, no foxing, quite nice. Major Cunyngham has drawn on a long lifetime of good living, and these entertaining reminiscences are fascinating and contain much valuable information, combined with amusing anecdotes. The author who has kept a wince cellar for many years, kowledgeably discusses the vintages of the past ... Sherries, fine Burgundies, Sauternes, Ports and many other wines. The section on good food contains many original recipes from hors d'oeuvres to sweetmeats, etc. Useful suggestions for catering and entertaining. in the final section, the author discusses fine tobacco, including his own reminiscences of Havan cigars, etc. .

At The Antiquarian Book Shop, located in Georgetown - an historic neighborhood of Washington, D.C. we have been buying, selling & appraising rare, interesting and scholarly books in Georgetown for more than 30 years.
