Good. Rebacked; hinges cracked; textblock tight; pages are yellowed with some foxing; a few pencil marks on endpapers; covers worn and soiled.
Very scarce and important. Privately printed in a very small edition.
Linn served as quartermaster of the Texas army and in the second and third congresses of the new Republic of Texas.
Raines, p. 139: "A valuable contribution to our history since Austin's first settlement."
Eberstadt: "Linn arrived in Texas in 1829 and immediately set up residence at Victoria. He embarked on a career as a merchant and was personally concerned in virtually all the important events of early Texas history, writing a lucid eye-witness narrative."
Parke Bernet: "The author was an Irishman who was an eyewitness to the events of the Texas Revolution. The work also contains accounts of Indian captivities, Long's Second Expedition, the Fannin Campaign, etc."
