Light thumb-marking present. Cracking to hinges with exposed binding, causing boards to be slightly loose. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Leather peeling to spine and corners, with noticeable scuffing and scratches overall. Mild tanning to spine and edges. Dark rubbed mark to spine.

New rear endpapers: lacks the map at rear. Very good condition. Sir Roger Therry (1800-1874), a judge, arrived in Sydney from Ireland in 1829. His "Reminiscences" were popular and went into a second edition, with some corrections, two months after the first. It was criticised in NSW and Therry suppressed the remaining copies. However the ADB says of the book: "as a descriptive narrative of places, natives, dramatis personae and events, it is a very readable, useful piece of work devoid of rancour and disclosing deep human sympathies." His memoirs include a detailed account of the Myall Creek massacre of Aborigines. 2nd Edition. Half leather.
