About This Item
Hardcover first edition, with dust jacket, published by David McKay, 1946. Reverend Knowles of Saint Alban's Church of Olney, Pennsylvania, here writes a passionate appreciation of FDR. The focus here is on his character and inherent humanity. 5" X 7-1/2", 96 pages. Blue colored cloth covered boards, with the author name and title imprinted on both the spine and front cover in gold. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped - original price of $2.00 is printed on the top corner of the front flap. Jacket has some edge wear, wear to the tips of the corners, a shallow chip to the head of the spine, faded circular stain mark to the back panel - about 1" in diameter. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Boards are flat, the bottom corners are just slightly bumped. This is not a library discard. Edges of the text block are clean. Age tanning to the text pages would appear to be appropriate for the type of paper used. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages.
