SCARCE study of the Alaska fishing industry, 155 pages with numerous black and white photographs, many of them of Native American fishermen. This copy finely bound and from the private collection of Dr. Joseph Hyde Pratt, noted North Carolina geologist, conservationist, and state and local civic leader, and later during WW I he was colonel in command of the First Battalion of the 105th Engineers, and part of the famous Thirtieth "Old Hickory" Division, the first to break the Hindenburg Line. Bound in full black calf without original paper wrappers, A distinctive copy of this SCARCE title. with gilt lettering, Pratt's name in gilt, and gilt rules, marbled end papers and edges. Near Fine, final blank end paper with worm holes at edge. . First Edition. Leather. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
