Five resolutions concerning the commissioners of and financing for the city of Washington. Rare, with OCLC locating no copies and Shaw and Shoemaker locating only the copy at the Library of Congress. The present copy was issued to Joseph Hopper Nicholson and bears manuscript corrections and annotations in his hand. Nicholson served in Congress from 1799 to 1806, completing his tenure there as one of its leading members. From 1806 to his death in 1817, Nicholson served as a judge in the Maryland court of appeals. SHAW & SHOEMAKER 3428
