About This Item
Washington: Beverley Tucker, 1853. First edition. Good+. 30 cm. Numerous litho plates, some colored; folding maps, plans, and elevation charts; wood engraved figures in text. Some plates stained. Text block a bit shaken in binding. Rear joint torn along spine for 10 cm from head. On the whole a very good copy, cleaner than many (in terms of foxing and stains on plates), without extraneous marks or blemishes. Condition noted. Heavy book: extra shipping charges will apply at cost.
Contains the Geological Report and the Botanical Report. A note in the text states that the Zoological Report, although listed in the table of contents, was not ready for printing and would therefore appear in a subsequent volume. Many fine landscape plates in color. Plates of molluscs and plants in black-and-white.

About Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio
Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio owes its name and its inspiration to the traditional Italian studio bibliografico. These small antiquarian bookshops, typically run by individuals who combine deep scholarship with a love of the printed object, remind us that underlying the words "study" and "studio" is the Latin term for zeal and devotion, studium. Since 1993, my goal has been to match discerning collectors with extraordinary books and manuscripts.
