Washington: Government Printing Office, 1867. 8vo, pp, 37, [3]; 14 folding maps with hand colored details in red; black cloth, upper board replaced and spine crudely rebacked, with original spine laid down. Maps 1 and 5 with tears in the gutter, and map 7 with a hole at crease and iron burning around it. Light foxing throughout; spine chipped. A record of a variety of proposals made to build canals throughout South America, including the Panama Canal.
