About This Item

New York, 1864. 5pp. Original printed wrappers. Fine. 5pp. In this report Perkiomen Mining Company superintendent James T. Brown reports on the prospects of the company's copper mines in Pennsylvania. This mining area, in Montgomery County, Pa., and near John James Audubon's former home at Mill Grove, was heavily populated by British miners from Cornwall in the 1850s. Brown's report is optimistic, and he asserts that the mine could yet yield more ore. OCLC records a Perkiomen Mining Company prospectus of 1863, but not the present title. Scarce.
