About This Item

1675 1ed LAW Reports of Sir William Jones Britain England Judge Ireland Cromwell

Sir William Jones was a 17th-century English jurist and judge who, like most judges of this time, kept extensive and detailed notes and reports on the cases he oversaw. In 1675, nearly 35 years after his death, Jones's 'Reports' were finally published for the first time. These reports were known to be highly influential to English barrister, William Sheppard, who reformed many of Oliver Cromwell's laws. (Matthews)
