About This Item

Dod's Peerage. 1915, massive ( 11 x 13 x 3.5 inches approx), bound in 2 tone leather boards and decorated with gilt wreath and crowns, 374 pages on thick paper and fine sepia-toned photographic plates on thin board, each with tissue guard; a collection of biographies of approx. 300 prominent masons; around half are accompanied by a portrait (photograph); image reproduction is excellent | this volume is square and securely bound; covers show some general wear with rubbing along edges, hinges, raised bands on spine, and at head of spine | upon opening the volume, blue endpapers are sound across hinges, but do show some dark discolouration, probably dust -marking; no name, notes or other ownership marks are present; scattered foxing is present throughout, but is not such as might impair reading enjoyment; a small tear in lower margin p339-40 has been mended with sellotape which is now yellowed with age; upper text block is gilded, which has protected the upper margin from dust wear and foxing; lower text block and to a lesser degree side text block show some dust discolouration and foxing, but again not such as might detract from reading enjoyment; age -related flaws notwithstanding, this remains a fine, historic volume which would make an excellent addition to any Masonic library | professional booksellers based in the UK | we package with great care and usually dispatch within 24hrs, always within two working days | please request scans or further information on any of our listings, which are all in stock and ready to be dispatched . Very Good.
