London: Printed for Paul Vaillant ..., 1748.. 23,[1]pp. Quarto. Extracted from nonce pamphlet volume. Half-title a bit ragged at gutter, otherwise a very good copy. First edition. A quite early verse publication by Potter (1721-1804), who is most generally known for his translations of the plays of Ãschylus (1777), Euripides (1781-1783) and Sophocles in (1788). ESTC locates six copies in North America, and notes that it was advertised in THE LONDON MAGAZINE and GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE in December of 1747. FOXON P1006. ESTC T44844.
