New York: Random House, 1951. First Edition. First printing, trade issue. Octavo. Tan cloth hardcover, decoratively stamped in green on spine and front cover; green topstain; dustjacket; 437pp. A bit of dusting to boards, else a tight, Near Fine copy, with top-stain deep and even. In the original dustwrapper, unclipped (priced $3.75 on front flap), spine very mildly sunned and with a couple of faint abrasions; easily Very Good or better. A nice copy of Michener's fifth published book and third work of fiction. There was a simultaneous "limited" issue (limitation not specified) for the American Booksellers Association, in the same binding but issued in clear acetate dustwrapper.
