About This Item
The First UK printing published by Faber & Faber, London in 1937. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Original publisher's blue cloth with gilt titling. A little pushing at the corners. A small indentation and mark to the lower spine. A neat contemporary ownership signature. Light toning and spotting to the text-block. A hint of spotting to a few pages. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition. Some small closed tears to the upper spine folds. A few nicks and mild edge-wear. Light toning to the spine and edges with a little rubbing. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. T.S. Eliot contributes a 40 page introductory essay with other contributions of similar length by such as Father Martin D'Arcy, William Temple [Archbishop of York (who was to become the Archbishop of Canterbury)] and Karl Barth etc. A scarce title. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
