London, The Linnean Society, 1883-1888. Six parts in six. Large 4to (30.5 x 32.7 cm). 352 pp.; 65 lithographed plates. Original, uniform printed wrappers. = Major study with detailed plates and the descriptions of many new species. Published in the Society's Transactions, "communicated by Sir John Lubbock". Wrappers rather worn and soiled, partly loose; the front wrapper of part one replaced by one of part III, and first few text leaves chipped and soiled in top outer corner. Several wrappers with stamps, small stamp on the plates of the fifth part, and a few text margins of the fifth and sixth parts. Otherwise, the contents are very good, clean. Horn-Schenkling II(1), p. 656; Nissen ZBI, 1224.
