About This Item

Sydney: New Holland, 2010. Hardback small square octavo, dustjacket, very good plus condition (in very good plus dustjacket), illustrated endpapers, minimal edgewear jacket. 224 pp. Poignant letters between husband and wife, separated by the Second World War (WW2). The letters were in an old suitcase that was full of their war correspondence. The letters were inherited by Heather Haughton when her mother died. The best letters are reproduced here. Ken joined the 2/7th Australian General Hospital unit, and served in Syria, Palestine and New Guinea. Eileen spent the war on a poultry farm.
