New York: George H. Doran Company, 1927. Written by Lawrence in 1919, this is an abridged version of less than half of the original manuscript. It remains one of the greatest wartime adventures of the Twentieth Century. This is a Very Good Plus to Near Fine copy of the First American Edition [stated "First Printing in America, March 1927"]. This copy has the Doran colophon, although the publisher was inconsistent with its use. Brick red cloth binding with titling and decorations in black on the spine and front cover. Clean text; xvi, 335 pages; with index and a fold-out map in the rear. Mild rub to the margins; spine somewhat darkenedr; 2" tear to the rear gutter. Lacking the dustjacket; in an archival plastic protector. [Note: due to a computer crash, this book may appear with a different inventory number, #002594]. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Synopsis

The abrdiged version of Seven Pillars of Wisdom, which is the autobiographical account of the experiences of British soldier T. E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia"), while serving as a liaison officer with rebel forces during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Turks of 1916 to 1918.
