About This Item
Signed on fep which states the book is "A Special Limited Edition for Friends of Ms. Magazine." The signature on the book is a facsimile, not an original hand-signed copy. 8vo size hardcover with dust jacket; 379 pages From jacket: "Having lead a social revolution against sexual and racial barriers over the past two decades, Gloria Steinem now connects that external revolution to a necessary internal revolution of spirit and consciousness. For years she assumed that concern with inner change with secondary to societal change. To friends she often joked, "The examined life is not worth living." But she continued to encounter (mostly) women with too little self-esteem to take advantage of hard-won, if still incomplete, opportunities, and too many (though not only) men who were addicted to authority and control as the only proof of their value. Both lacked faith in a unique self: that "core" self-esteem without which no amount of "situational" self-esteem can be enough." Bumped head and heel of spine; moderate wear to jacket with some rubbing to back of jacket; we note two pages with a publication defect - a lightening of the text, three previously page corners and inked underlining and marginalia on more than 80 pages. . Limited. Hard Cover. Acceptable/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
