About This Item

London: J.S. Virtue and Company, Ltd, 1888. Heavily illustrated with over 150 black and white engravings. Translated from the German by Bartley. 388 pages. Very good condition (edgewear, especially at spine; front and back hinges show some cracking of interior pastedowns, but book is still firm; clean interior). No dust jacket. A flattering picture of the Rhine and its peoples at some indeterminate past, certainly at least 1890s to judge by the dress. . Hard Cover. Illus. by Black and white illustrations.
