Jessie WILLCOX SMITH, illustrator. 4to (11 ¾" x 10 7/8"); 32pp; color pictorial boards, both front and rear picture three seated children, one girl with a doll and one with a hat, tan shelf-back; color fp plus 5 additional plates; title page with a pictorial border in black and orange; all pages with text feature a pictorial border; rubbing to edges and corners with loss, interior bright; very good plus. Rhyming poems for children based on everyday life, some specific to an upper-class upbringing at the turn of the 20th century. Charming illustrations by Jessie Willcox Smith (1863-1935), an important award-winning American artist and illustrator from the Golden Age of Illustration.
