New York: White and Allen, 1889. Cloth. Poor. Green cloth illustrated in gilt, black and red. Folio. xx, 61 pp. Color and black and white illustrations by Frank M. Gregory. All 5 color plates present as called for, with all black and white illustrations also apparently present. An illustrated edition of Sheridan's popular play, providing a humorous and sometimes bawdy look at 18th century British society. POOR condition. Three plates DETACHED and laid in, 2 prior to act I and one facing page 21. Red crayon scribbles to the rear cover. Uneven scuffing, general fading and darkening to the covers. Some soiling and minor staining. Small circular area of discoloration at the front fore edge. Cloth worn along the extremities. Heavy foxing scattered throughout the book, with the binding somewhat shaken. Faint dampstain along the upper edge of the first few pages.
