Hardcover. 8vo, 19.5cm, first US edition, 283,[8]p., with 16 tipped in colour plate illustrations on grey extra stock paper, (inc. frontis), in fine grain speckled green linen, gilt block spine and cover titles, top edge gilt, else untrimmed, spine faded to tan, (title stamping clear), light fade patch on the spine from label removal, bookplate removal residue on the front and rear endpapers, otherwise very good (gar). ~ This double imprint would seem quite scarce. The sheets were printed in Edinburgh. Le Roy Phillips is stamped on the foot of the spine as are the publisher's ads.
